I couldn't get consistent feeds until I replaced out of the box extruder with DXC2. This and the MicroSwiss HotEnd make the K2 Plus a good printer. Spend the extra money, you will then be happy with the K2 Plus!
I have the extruder working on my Creality K2 Plus and it is working great now. I rushed into the job a little bit and did not do as much research as I should that's why my headline is stated like it is. There are several things you must have before doing this conversion, you cannot run it on a K2 Plus without making the riser for the CFS unit due to it raising the filament input. There are also mods that you have to do to your printer, make sure you understand them before doing the conversion. With all of that said I still give this five stars because it does work very well.. I am able to run TPU to PETG without making any adjustments to my extrude. It worked flawlessly with both of them. Just make sure to do end up research before installing. Below listed are the things that I needed in order to complete this.
#1 CFS Riser that lifts the glass lid
#2 if you don't get the chain riser and filament tube guide when you purchase your unit you will have to print them before installing it. I didn't do this and it bit me in the ass.
#3 I wanted a new cover for the front unit so I printed one and installed the magnets.
#4 make sure you're comfortable with making the modifications to the machine parameters that are necessary when you install it
#5 from what I've read almost everybody has to edit the cutter in order to make it cut better after installing this unit. I did read that there is the ability to run a factory K2 Plus cutter inside of the new extruder I have not verified this as I made the modifications to make mine cut properly.
I read the instruction letter by letter. Still needed to consult with a LLM to iron out the settings. Once I got them down (cutter
depth mostly) I found out that the filament sensor pin was sticking out during color swaps using my CFS. I sprayed some PTFE lube on it and cycled it for a while which seems to be the solution.
Otherwise great product!
Product has taken my Creality K2 Plus to another level! Amazing extruder that is producing flawless!
