aeWorthy™ ASA-Aero
aeWorthy™ ASA-Aero is a type of light weight 3D printing material specially developed for aircraft model, ship model, drone and other fields. It can be controlled the foaming ratio by adjusting the temperature during the printing process, so that the density of the material extruded by the nozzle can be adjusted within a certain range. With this technique, it is easy to reduce the weight of the prints. In the best-case scenario, the prints weight can be reduced to 50% of a prints in ordinary ASA. In addition to that, the matte texture of the prints’ surface can reduce the visibility of printed layers and thus gives a smooth surface finish.

Additional Suggestions: Due to “On-Demand foaming” technology, ASA-Aero will continue to expand in the nozzle after being heated during the printing process. There will be unavoidable stringing during the nozzle movement. This phenomenon will not be avoided even after adjusting the retraction setting in the slicing software. Therefore, it is recommended to turn off the retraction setting. The string on the surface of models can easily be removed by hand. Since ASA material requires high ambient temperature during printing, it is recommended to use nozzle with orifice 0.6mm or bigger to print single-layer thin-walled models to ensure strength and reduce shrinkage. |
